My dad died when I was young. He was a good and decent man. There are a few things he would say that have just always stuck with me. Each budgets reflect our priorities, reflect our principles, reflect our vision. We believe in balancing the budget. We believe in getting government to live within its means. We believe in pro-growth economic policies, energy exploration, fixing our entitlements before they go bankrupt.

I think preexisting conditions is a very important feature of any healthcare system.

The condition of your birth doesn't determine the outcome of your life. This is America.

Are we interested in treating the symptoms of poverty and economic stagnation through income redistribution and class warfare, or do we want to go at the root causes of poverty and economic stagnation by promoting pro-growth policies that promote prosperity?

Back in 2008, candidate Obama called a $10 trillion national debt 'unpatriotic' - serious talk from what looked to be a serious reformer. Yet by his own decisions, President Obama has added more debt than any other president before him, and more than all the troubled governments of Europe combined. One president, one term, $5 trillion in new debt.

The sicker and the older you get, the more support you ought to get.

The president has declared that the debate over government-controlled health care is over. That will come as news to the millions of Americans who will elect Mitt Romney so we can repeal Obamacare.

I think what matters is that we have to show people that we are an inclusive society that-that-that we want everyone to succeed. And I think there's more that all of us as leaders have got to do to be inclusive with people and make people feel like they're included in society.

I don't subscribe to relativism, whether it's in political philosophy, foreign policy or in life.

Donald Trump will lead a unified Republican government. And we will work hand-in- hand on a positive agenda to tackle America's big challenges.

I think conservatives should be confident in our beliefs and go push them everywhere we can and go to non-traditional communities. It's a no-brainer.

Now it's a war on women; tomorrow it's going to be a war on left-handed Irishmen or something like that.

We will not duck the tough issues, we will lead.

Let's pass a bill to cover the moon with yogurt that will cost $5 trillion today. And then let's pass a bill the next day to cancel that bill. We could save $5 trillion.

There are people in communities who are actually out there fighting poverty eye-to-eye, soul-to-soul, in neighborhoods that actually do well, that succeed. But for government, I think in many cases, they could do more.

There's a gaping difference between the United States of America and Putin's Russia.

The President didn't offer any clarity in his latest speech about what he would do to tackle our nation's debt before it tackles us and it's still not clear how he'll keep Medicare from going bankrupt. One thing is clear though, Barack Obama isn't interested in governing or putting forward solutions to fix our nation's problems.

I spent more time talking with this president [Donald Trump] in the last few days, I think, than I probably talked with this last president [Barack Obama] in the last six months. So this is something that he is working very closely hand in glove with congress.

Big-government economics breeds crony capitalism. It's corrupt, anything but neutral, and a barrier to broad participation in prosperity.

There`s a long conversation we`re going to have about how to enforce immigration laws. But physically securing the border is essential.

You've got to have tax reform to get faster economic growth. Faster economic growth is necessary for us to get our debt under control.

Our debt is out of control. What was a fiscal challenge is now a fiscal crisis. We cannot deny it; instead we must, as Americans, confront it responsibly. And that is exactly what Republicans pledge to do.

To borrow a phrase from my friend Erskine Bowles on the Fiscal Commission, we are the healthiest looking horse in the glue factory. That means America is still a step ahead of the European nations who are confronting a debt crisis, of Japan that's in its second lost decade.

I don't consult polls to tell me what my principles are or what our policies should be.

Life is short, you better make the most of it.

Mike Pence is a good man, a principled conservative, and he will make a great vice president.
